SYW Grocery Offer: Buying Visa GC online + code as grocery?

I have the targeted offer from SYW for 10% back on $1,000 at Grocery Stores OR 20% if I spend $2,000. I've been buying visa gift cards from my local Kroger store however this past week, I bought one that had the security code scratched out and it's been a huge pain to deal with.
