Q: How does MTM compare to MJ Bale?

How do they compare to MJ Bale, Suit Supply, etc.? They have a 2 custom suits for $1000 which looks pretty attractive cost-wise. $1000 for 2 MTM suits is sus for an Australian retail shop. I looked at their reviews and they do get a pretty bad rep for service and note they charge you for alterations (which is unheard of for MTM).

Q: What's the difference between MJ Bale & suit shop?

With Suit Shop being a strictly MTM operation (from the well respected PJ nonetheless), and MJ Bale (also highly respected) being more of a high street/OTR suit store with a MTM option. EDIT: Just rememebered hearing about Oscar Hunt as well, although that name is unfamiliar to me. Any experiences with them?

Q: Did MJ Bale make any adjustments?

I have paid MJ Bale to make some really minor adjustments such as take in the back shoulder a tiny bit and shorten the length of the trousers. To my surprise they have done a really bad job as all the length were way too long when I pick up the suits.

Q: Is MJ Bale a good brand?

As a background, I often bought MJ Bale suits and shirts as they have affordable mid-range items I would wear in the office. I thought the price-to-quality ratio was good, and durability was great for office wear. With COVID & WFH and trying out some other brands, I haven't bought any items from them in a few years.

Q: How much does a bale MTM cost?

I think I saw Anthony Squires mentioned a few times too. Bale also does MTM, it starts at about $1100 though. The $499 and $699 are sale prices. They are usually $700 and $1000 respectively. I work for Bale, so I'm biased, but I would say that from what I've seen and heard, it's worth the extra cost (Bale over Instituchu MTM)
